The majority of travelers were from Guangdong, Hunan and Zhejiang provinces. Young and middle-aged people were the primary demographic.

More than half of tourists took trains to Guangxi, but the number of tourists travelling by car and coach has been rising.

The effect of the "Winter Tourism in Guangxi" promotional campaign carried out in 13 provinces and municipalities throughout China was evident. The region received 6,083,232 travelers from these regions from Dec 1, 2018 to Jan 27, 2019, up 22.52 percent year-on-year.
