Passenger throughput at the airport is expected to grow by 10 percent to 1.95 million as throngs of migrant workers and college students return to their hometowns during the Chinese Lunar New Year to reunite with their families.
The Chinese Year of the Pig will begin on Feb 5. The first peak travel time will occur between Jan 30 and Feb 3, while the second peak is expected to be between Feb 8 and 17.
To ensure the smooth flow of passengers, Nanning airport has conducted drills to prepare for widespread flight delays, opened security inspection channels for the elderly, and added three WeChat self-service machines to sell express bus tickets.
