A total of 1.94 million railway trips are predicted in Guilin, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 21 to March 1, up 7.4 percent year-on-year.

To ease traffic burden, Guilin will add 14 pairs of trains, of which 13 are bullet trains. Most of the bullet trains bound for popular destinations, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanning and Liuzhou will add extra carriages, as will the Z6, Z286 and K22 trains.

Service windows in the ticket halls of Guilin Railway Station will be available around the clock for ticket purchases, and more windows will open during peak periods. Five self-service ticket machines will also be set up in populous areas.

Additionally, the Guilin Railway Station and Guilin North Railway Station will offer shuttle buses to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport to realize a seamless transfer between the railway and air networks.
