Construction on the Nanning-Yulin intercity railway, with a cost of more than 35 billion yuan ($5.17 billion), commenced on Jan 15 and is expected to be completed within three years.

Spanning 193.14 kilometers, the rail line will run through Nanning East, Yongning, Liujing, Hengxian, Xingye South, and Yulin North railway stations. Designed to support speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, the entire journey will take just 40 minutes.

The Nanning-Yulin section, as a key part of the Nanning-Shenzhen railway, will stretch eastwards to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Not only will it facilitate travel between Guangxi and the Pearl River Delta, but more importantly, it will propel industrial, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two areas.
