A tax refund station recently opened at the Nanning Wuxu International Airport. Air travelers can find it in the waiting lounge after going through boarding procedures.

Guangxi's tax refund policy, which came into effect on Dec 11, 2018, applies to foreigners staying in China for less than 183 days, as well as people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

To qualify for the refund, a passenger must spend at least 500 yuan ($73) in a single day at a tax-refund store, and the goods must not be used or consumed. Departure must be within 90 days of purchasing the products.

At the tax refund station, people need to present a valid ID card, application form and purchase voucher. The refund rate is 11 percent, and the money can be refunded in cash or via a bank transfer.
