New expressway to bring Guangxi, Guangdong closer

The 2.02-billion-yuan ($297-million) Datang-Pubei Expressway is expected to open to traffic by 2021, bringing Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region closer to Guangdong province.

Located in west Guangxi, the expressway will run through Nanning's Liangqing district, Qinzhou's Qinbei district, Lingshan county and Pubei county. The main line spans 124 kilometers and features a dual four-lane structure with a speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour.

China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp Ltd Guangxi Branch constructed the project. Funding came from Guangxi Beibu Gulf Investment Group Co Ltd.

Upon completion, the expressway will be connected to Wuxu-Datang, Nanning-Beihai, Guigang-Hepu, Pubei-Beiliu and Liujing-Qinzhou Port expressways, serving as another trans-provincial key passage linking southeast Guangxi with the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong.
