The annual passenger throughput of the Nanning Wuxu International Airport exceeded 15 million in 2018, after exceeded 10 million in 2015.

The airport opened 61 new routes last year, connecting Nanning with 14 new destinations, including Wanzhou, Xinzhou, Manila and Moscow.

There are currently more than 50 airlines operating 172 flights between Nanning and 108 different cities, of which 77 are domestic and 31 are international.

The airport plans to open more flights in the years to come, while also accelerating construction on its second runway and ground transportation center (GTC).

The airport, which serves as a gateway to ASEAN, is expected to be able to handle 16 million passengers by 2020, 29 million by 2030 and 41 million by 2040.
