Twenty-four photos and 14 videos were recognized at the award ceremony of a photography competition held in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Dec 22.

The competition was jointly sponsored by the Guilin tourism development committee, the China Communist Youth League Guilin municipal committee and the Shangri-La Hotel.

Nearly 500 photos and videos were sent to the organizing committee during the two-month submission period that started on Sept 16.

After initial nominations, a process of reviewing, voting, and rating determined the winners of the Most Creative Award, Best Director Award, and the Best Cityscape Award, in addition to the first, second and third-place prizes.

According to an official of the Guilin tourism development committee, the competition was aimed at inspiring people to recognize, capture and share Guilin's beauty. It succeeded in presenting Guilin as a historic and cultural city.
