China-ASEAN Intl Regatta to unfurl in Guangxi
Ten Chinese and ASEAN fleets will take part in the "Belt & Road" China-ASEAN International Regatta. They will set sail from Beihai city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in November 2019 for the 2,260-nautical-mile adventure.
It was announced at the 4th Asiania Sport-For-All Cooperation and Development Forum and China-ASEAN Sport-For-All Cooperation and Development Forum in Nanning on Dec 18.

The regatta is divided into seven legs and consists of four harbor races. Around 200 sailors will pass by China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia before finally arriving in Singapore.
This will be China's first State-level regatta themed around the Belt and Road, and more participation from South Asia, West Asia, Europe, Africa and other Belt and Road regions are expected in the years to come.
The event is organized by the Guangxi government and the General Administration of Sport with the support of the World Sailing, Asian Sailing Federation and the Chinese Yachting Association. Preparations for the race are currently ongoing.
