Lipu Taro Culture Festival brings year-end fun
A folk art parade, a floating lantern show, a sugar orange forum, a cooking competition, culinary delicacies, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and trade fairs animated the 2nd Lipu Taro Culture Festival from Dec 17 to 19.
Of particular note were exhibitions that captured Lipu's historic evolution and achievements over 40 years of Reform & Opening-up. The city's picturesque natural scenery, great location, favorable business environment and profound culture became fully apparent through the exhibits.

Meanwhile, six sets of floating lanterns lit up the classical gardens along the banks of Lijiang River. The lanterns, with their shapes ranging from that of sugar orange to water-chestnut and clothes hanger, were symbolic of local industry, agriculture, tourism, culture and social development.
On the culinary front, 70 enterprises and individuals put their cooking skills to the test by making regional delicacies such as Sesame Dumplings with Grated Peanuts and Fried-Dough.
A folk art parade on the evening of Dec 17 also piqued interest. It featured 23 matrixs dedicated to dragon dance, martial arts, circular fans, floats, paper-made trinkets, and more.
In addition, a slew of activities were held revolving around Lipu's sugar orange, including an industrial forum, an eating contest and a "King of Sugar Orange" competition.
