The scale of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's online commodity transactions reached nearly 8.28 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) in the third quarter, 72.61 percent of the total transaction volume (11.3 billion yuan) in the first half of the year.

At present, the total number of e-commerce companies in Guangxi is at 385,600, an increase of 11.18 percent compared with the previous quarter's 346,800, and the proportion of transaction entities has increased significantly.

Class C shops (personal online shops) accounted for 84.18 percent, mainly relying on Taobao, Tmall, JD, YHD and other platforms to carry out business activities.

The number of commodity trading entities in Chongzuo, Fangchenggang, Yulin, Nanning and Baise has increased and the cities have become the top five in the region; the total number of online e-commerce transactions and the total transaction volume in Nanning ranks first in the region.

Data analysis shows that there were four main characteristics of Guangxi online transactions in the third quarter: the five cities with higher growth rates all have border trade characteristics; the number of independent websites (transactions) in the region accounts for over 90 percent of trading; independent websites have grown fast, and online payment applications have improved.

Compared with last year's data, the speed of the development of well-known trademarks and old brands on the Internet has accelerated rapidly. Out of the top 10 categories of goods in Guangxi's online commodity trading market, fresh fruits, dried fruits and other agricultural and sideline products are particularly active, with the three largest cities, Nanning, Yulin and Guilin, contributing the most.
