Recent figures show Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have made further progress in strengthening poverty alleviation industry cooperation.

From 2017 to the end of September this year, Guangxi and Guangdong enterprises signed a total of 1,793 cooperation projects with a total investment of 394.29 billion yuan ($56.79 billion).

With the support of Guangdong province, Guangxi has introduced 113 Guangdong enterprises to its region and implemented 69 industrial poverty alleviation projects this year. With an investment amount of 16.03 billion yuan, the projects will lift 8,995 people out of poverty.

Industrial parks such as Debao Vein Industrial Park, Tiandong Shenzhen Baise Industrial Park, and Shenzhen Bama Health Special Experimental Zone are already in progress.

Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Special Pilot Zone has 338 key enterprises and 207 newly registered enterprises. The fixed assets investment of the Guangxi area reached 4.17 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 14.2 percent.

Guangdong and Guangxi have jointly formulated a tourism poverty alleviation cooperation plan and promoted the signing of the tourism assistance cooperation framework agreement.

A number of major tourism projects, such as Nanning ASEAN Cultural Tourism, with an investment of 28 billion yuan; Bama High-End Star-rated Hotel Complex, with an investment of 1 billion yuan; and Bama Hot Spring Resort, with an investment of 2 billion yuan, have successively settled in Guangxi.

A total of 83 scenic spots have implemented a ticket reduction policy for Guangdong tourists. Guangxi has received a total of 63.56 million tourists from Guangdong since 2017.

In addition, Guangxi has also expanded the sales channels of agricultural products in poverty-stricken areas through cooperation with Guangdong.

Shenzhen provides four free-sale agricultural products wholesale market trading stalls for Baise and Hechi, has set up agricultural product displays and a sales center, and purchases poverty-reducing gifts for sale to Guangdong through the purchase of poverty-stricken households at the market price.
