Partnership between Guangxi and Taiwan bears fruit

A regional partnership of friendship and cooperation between Guangxi and Taiwan has brought tangible benefits to both of the regions, according to a newly released report from the government on Oct 21.

Targeting economic and trade cooperation, Guangxi and Taiwan have already achieved fruitful results in a wide range of areas, with their trade volume reaching $6.95 billion over the past two years. The accumulated number of approved Taiwan-funded enterprises and projects hit 1,769, providing nearly 100,000 jobs.

More than 300 agricultural enterprises, accounting for over 30 percent of the Taiwan-funded enterprises, have achieved remarkable milestones in agricultural cooperation, particularly in the areas of planting, fresh and salt water aquaculture, seedling breeding, sightseeing agriculture, talent training and bioengineering. Taiwan additionally has close ties with Guangxi in science, education and other social undertakings. Guangxi has organized various activities to promote cooperation and common development between both sides.

In order to further deepen ties and cooperation, Guangxi has created favorable conditions to optimize the investment environment and provide abundant cooperation opportunities to Taiwan investors.
