Hezhou industrial parks driving development in emerging industries
New projects under construction since September in Hezhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, are taking advantage of the area's ecological resources and economic system reforms in order to drive economic development in the health, electronic and digital industries.
Establishing close cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and aiming to become an attractive spot for investment, Hezhou is preparing to create new industrial clusters through the construction of three new industrial parks.
Guangxi Digital Hezhou Industrial Park project is a cooperative project between Hezhou and the Shenzhen Software Industry Association, and has already attracted enterprises such as Beyondsoft and Taiji Yunsoft.
The total investment of the project is nearly 5 billion yuan ($723.57 million), including the construction of the exchange exhibition center, the science and technology research and development center, the headquarters base, and the supported living community.
Hezhou Health Yungang Industrial Park project covers an area of about 5 square kilometers. With a total investment of 10 billion yuan, the scope of the park's industries includes biomedicine and high-end health services. By 2025 the park aims to have built more than 60 biomedical enterprises and to have reached a total output value of 50 billion yuan.
Guangxi Bestone Electronic Industrial Park mainly focuses on the mid-to-high-end electronics industry. After completion, the annual output value is expected to reach 12 billion yuan, making the park a billion-yuan electronic technology industry cluster.
Hezhou has established the Economic and Trade Liaison Office of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and set up a new economic and industry development fund to promote cooperation in strategic planning, policy convergence, industrial coordination and factor allocation.
It will also promote multi-level and normalized open cooperation with associations, think tanks and enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, striving to introduce more "new economic industrial parks".
