Beihai accelerates electronic information industry development
The transformation and upgrading of the electronic information industry in Beihai, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is accelerating, entering the forefront of science and technology at home and abroad.
Beihai HKC Technology Co has both a production line for optoelectronic display products and precision components for mobile smart terminals such as smartphones.
It is estimated that by the end of 2018, annual output will reach 20 million sets of CNC precision components. After the project is fully set up in 2019, it will reach an annual capacity of 40 million sets of CNC precision components.
Admiral Oversea Corporation (AOC), the world-renowned electronic technology company, settled in Beihai in April 2011. After engaging in mass production in 2012, it has gradually expanded to a current annual production capacity of 6.5 million display products, with an annual production capacity of 3.5 million LCM LCD modules, and attracted 17 enterprises to provide it supporting products and logistics services.
Guangxi will focus on AOC in Beihai and drive neighboring supporting enterprises to form a liquid crystal display manufacturing industry cluster with annual sales exceeding 3 billion yuan ($433.54 million)by 2020.
With the quick transformations and constant upgrading taking place in the electronic information industry, Beihai High-tech Zone has gradually formed seven major electronic information industry parks, including China Electronics Beihai Industrial Park, 3nod Smart Industrial Park, HKC Electronic Technology Industrial Park, Kuantech Science and Technology Park, Netac Technology Storage Industrial Park, Jingkaida Intelligent Terminal Industrial Park and China Electronics Beibu Gulf Information Port.
China Electronics Beibu Gulf Information Port, which is known as the "upgraded version" of Beihai's electronic information industry, has been put to use in forming a cluster of technology services that integrate industrial chain integration, productive services and innovative culture. It also promotes the transition of the Beihai electronic information industry from manufacturing to service industries.
At present, more than 100 enterprises have settled in the information port, including Huatang and Finup and there are nearly 40 new projects in development. The platform added an income of 947 million yuan to Beihai High-tech Zone in the first half of 2018.
The output value of the electronics manufacturing industry above a designated scale of Beihai High-tech Zone reached 84.117 billion yuan, with the output value of the zone's electronic information industry accounting for about 1/3 of the total output value of Guangxi's electronic information manufacturing industry in 2017.
The industrial output value of the zone has increased 24 times from 9 billion yuan in 2008 to 87.08 billion yuan in 2017.
At the New Generation Information Technology Innovative and Development Seminar, one of the nine sub-forums of the 3rd China-ASEAN Information Harbor Forum held in Beihai in September, 59 key projects were signed with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan, most of which have settled in Beihai High-tech Zone.
