The 2026 China-Vietnam cross-border fellowship for women took place in Pingxiang – a major border city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, adjacent to Vietnam – gathering some 350 female representatives from both countries to deepen cross-border friendship and cooperation.

The event served as a robust exchange platform for women in China-Vietnam border areas, with participants engaging in in-depth interactions focusing on culture, entrepreneurship and border governance. Female entrepreneurs from the two nations signed cooperation agreements in cross-border e-commerce, supply chain services and legal support, channeling their strength into boosting bilateral border trade and economic development.

Cultural performances including China-Vietnam fashion shows and joint choral acts were highlighted at the opening, showcasing the unique charm and deep friendship between the women of the two countries.

Participants experienced traditional Zhuang brocade making together and sampled local delicacies at a China-ASEAN trade market. At the Pingxiang Science and Technology Museum, an AI-focused exchange featured interactive lion dance performances with robotic dogs, hands-on trials of smart glasses with real-time Vietnamese translation capabilities, and a tour of a special exhibition highlighting women's contributions to technological innovation.

These intimate interactions strengthened mutual understanding and forged closer bonds between the female representatives. Organizers stated that the fellowship will become a regular cross-border exchange program, with more themed activities to be launched in the future.

The initiative aims to turn the friendship between women of the two sides into a powerful driving force for advancing China-Vietnam border development and people-to-people connectivity.
