Diplomats praise Guangxi's opening-up achievements during visit

More than 20 foreign ambassadors and diplomats to China recently visited Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, expressing admiration for its opening-up and development results.

During their tour of Qinzhou Automated Container Terminal at Beibu Gulf Port, Ambassador of Tunisian to China Adel Elarbi was impressed.

 "There's no manual work here – all containers are managed from a comfortable office. This is a model of a smart port, highly valuable for trade. I see great development opportunities," he said.

As China's frontier for cooperation with ASEAN and a key gateway for the Belt and Road Initiative, Guangxi showcased its vitality to the diplomats.

They visited the China-ASEAN AI Application Cooperation Center, Qinzhou Automated Container Terminal and China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park.

Solomon Islands Ambassador Barrett Salato said global ports are moving toward automation. He highlighted Guangxi's huge potential, especially its close ties to ASEAN – providing access to the market and further distribution.

North Macedonian Ambassador Sashko Nasev praised Guangxi's progress in logistics hubs and automation, stressing technology's role in global supply chains and AI's role in shaping the future.

Cameroonian Ambassador Martin Mpana was amazed by Beibu Gulf Port's scale, calling it a sign of robust economic growth. He added that Guangxi's role in connecting Southeast Asia offers lessons for Africa's development.
