Envoys explore Guangxi's growth, eye wider cooperation

A delegation of diplomats from 28 countries has visited China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, seeking insights into its development and cooperation potential.

Led by ambassadors and officials from nations including Argentina, Croatia, Cameroon and South Korea, the group toured Nanning and Qinzhou.

They inspected key projects like the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China-ASEAN AI Application Cooperation Center, acquiring direct insights into Guangxi's progress in high-quality development, rural revitalization, and ethnic unity.

On Oct 28, Chen Gang, Party secretary of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regional Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regional People's Congress, met with the delegation in Nanning.

He welcomed their visit and highlighted Guangxi's progress in poverty alleviation, AI development, and ethnic harmony.

Chen noted that Guangxi is seizing opportunities from China's AI capacity-building initiative and the Belt and Road, while expanding openness and ASEAN AI cooperation.

He mentioned that the region is developing new-quality productive forces and creating a demonstration zone topromote a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. He also expressed enthusiasm for expanding collaboration in trade, technology, green development and tourism.

Cameroon's Ambassador Martin Mpana, representing the delegation, praised Guangxi's accomplishments under China's guidance. "We admire its distinctive location, diverse ethnic communities and stunning ecology," he said, committing to foster bilateral friendship and cooperation.

Regional leaders Lu Xinning and Zhou Yijue joined the meeting.
