Nanning adorns streets with flags for National Day

Ahead of the 76th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, Nanning – capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region – is gearing up for the festive season.

A total of 1,779 new Five-Star Red Flags were hung on lampposts along 15 major roads on Sept 28, including Minzu Avenue, Xinmin Road and Shuangyong Road.

The fluttering red flags have turned the thoroughfares into a sea of red, fostering a patriotic National Day vibe.

The flag-hanging effort is part of Nanning's holiday preparations. In addition to showing respect for the motherland, it helps get residents into the festive spirit.

As people and vehicles pass these flag-lined streets, the bright red symbols boost national pride, adding charm to the city's autumn scenery.
