Liuzhou has launched a full-scale robotics push to drive industrial transformation, positioning itself as a hub for AI terminals and robotic manufacturing in Guangxi.
The city's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30) places artificial intelligence at its core, targeting 10 modern pillar industries, including AI terminals and robotics, and building a Guangxi innovation base for AI application scenarios.

In just six months, Liuzhou rolled out 1,000 units of Walker S2 humanoid robots at UBTECH's Liuzhou Smart Factory, a facility dedicated to industrial robot R&D and mass production. Guangxi's first embodied intelligence training center now trains over 20 industrial robots for smart manufacturing tasks, supporting industries across Guangxi and the ASEAN region.
Multiple AI firms have settled in Liuzhou. Beijing Robint Technology runs a manufacturing base in the city to develop AI service robots for healthcare, hospitality and industrial use. UBTECH focuses on the production of humanoid robots for factory assembly lines. Most of these entities plan to use Liuzhou as a springboard to expand into ASEAN markets.

In 2025, Liuzhou's AI and robotics output surged 39.5 percent year on year. AI-powered robots now operate at SAIC-GM-Wuling's smart factory. On this national top-tier intelligent manufacturing site, over 75 percent of production scenarios use AI, enabling efficient mixed-model vehicle production.
Backed by robust industrial foundations and supportive policies, Liuzhou follows an AI development model characterized by being "researched in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, assembled in Guangxi, and applied to ASEAN", upgrading traditional sectors and fostering new quality productive forces.
