Bama Yao autonomous county, known as the "World's Longevity Town", has been gaining recognition in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) recently, drawing domestic and foreign businesses and becoming a popular tourist destination.

On Sept 11, Bama held an investment and consumption promotion event in Shenzhen, themed around deepening Shenzhen-Bama cooperation in health and longevity industries.

It showcased Bama's ecological advantages, longevity resources, and development opportunities, while signing agreements with enterprises focusing on natural water, longevity food and cultural tourism, and health preservation.

The next day, a "Visit Bama for Health" promotion took place at Shenzhen World Convention and Exhibition Center. It utilizes the 2025 Shenzhen International Intelligent Elderly Care Industry Expo to present Bama's health tourism resources.

Over the course of nine years, Shenzhen has provided 490 million yuan ( $68.1 million) in assistance to Bama, introduced 59 tech firms, and co-built the Shenzhen-Bama Big Health Cooperation Special Pilot Zone. The zone currently has 59 institutions, with Bama advancing smart healthcare integration via a "1+N" system (county-level smart health platform + multiple bases and communities).

In 2024, Bama received 10.02 million tourists, with a year-on-year growth of 17.79 percentage, and achieved 10.73 billion yuan in tourism consumption.

With improved transportation, it aims to become a key logistics node. Future plans include attracting more GBA enterprises to build a model for inter-regional industrial cooperation.
