Fengshan boosts tea industry for farmers' income
Fengshan county has worked on building a complete tea processing industry chain to enhance the tea industry and increase farmers' income, local media outlets reported on Dec 31, 2024. Currently, the total tea planting area in the county is 524 mu (35 hectares), with a tea yield of 1.15 metric tons and a production value of 414,000 yuan ($56,720) in 2024.
Optimization of tea varieties and enhancement of technical guidance services are two vital methods that Fengshan county used to improve the tea industry.
Through communication and guidance with enterprises, the county introduced planting 50 mu of Wuzhou Liubao Tea at the beginning of this year, laying the foundation for diversifying tea varieties in the tea industry. The county has organized in-depth training and guidance on tea planting and picking techniques more than 10 times, with over 100 people trained cumulatively.
Furthermore, Fengshan county has organized cultural events to attract visitors to enhance social attention and awareness of Fengshan tea. These activities aim to create a favorable environment for the region's tea industry development.
