Sanmenhai Scenic Area sees tourist surge in winter

The Sanmenhai Scenic Area in Fengshan county, Hechi, has become a popular winter attraction thanks to its unique karst landscapes and turquoise waters.

The scenic area is a national 4A-level tourist attraction located in Poxin village and is recognized globally for its stunning combination of karst mountains, waters, caves, and blue skies. 

"I came from Hebei province and learned about Sanmenhai Scenic Area in Hechi online. I was very interested and already had high expectations, but the beautiful scenery exceeded even my wildest imagination. The scenery is unlike anything I've ever seen," said Zhang Yunze, a tourist at the scenic area.

The scenic area has welcomed approximately 180,000 visitors in 2024. To better accommodate them, the scenic area has added 20 new boats. After the arrival of winter, many visitors from northern China have been drawn to the site, with weekend visitor numbers exceeding 1,500.
