Hechi's high-tech sector sees strong growth in 2024

A total of 29 companies in Hechi were recognized as high-tech enterprises in 2024, fulfilling 145 percent of the task assigned by Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and maintaining the top rank in the autonomous region for the second year in a row. To date, the city boasts 69 high-tech enterprises, a 32-percent year-on-year increase.

The city is focusing on forward planning, financial empowerment, and the development of a service mechanism. Driven by technological innovation, high-tech enterprises are becoming significant parts of the city's innovation-driven development strategy.

In November 2024, 27 industrial high-tech enterprises above designated size in Hechi achieved a total industrial output value of 28.42 billion yuan ($3.89 billion), a 24.7-percent year-on-year increase and accounting for 31.64 percent of the city's total industrial output value.

Additionally, two new gazelle enterprises emerged, a 50-percent year-on-year increase for the third year in a row and bringing the total number to six. The gazelle enterprises achieved an industrial output value of 2.81 billion yuan, a 27.17-percent year-on-year increase.
