Tourism flourishes in Jinchengjiang, Hechi
Jinchengjiang district of Hechi city in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been making significant strides in the tourism industry by focusing on project development, cultural activities, and seizing opportunities presented by high-speed rail connections.
The district has been dedicated to promoting cultural and tourism brands with robust measures, bringing about a thriving growth momentum, with visitor numbers and revenue seeing remarkable increases.
"Currently, the average daily visitor count in the scenic areas remains around 300, while during peak holiday periods, the daily visitor reception can exceed 2,500," said Wei Qianyi from the business department of the Hechi Xiaosanxia Tourism Company. "To better cater to the increasing number of visitors and their sightseeing needs, the scenic areas have implemented measures such as increasing the frequency of boat trips, enhancing safety management, and optimizing the environment to ensure that visitors can tour the area safely and enjoyably."
In 2023, Jinchengjiang received more than 5.8 million tourists, marking a 56.66 percent year-on-year increase, with total tourism expenditure reaching 60.85 billion yuan ($8.5 million), a 42.69 percent year-on-year growth.
The statistics from January to September show that Jinchengjiang has received a total of 5.54 million visitors, reflecting an 11.42 percent year-on-year increase, with total tourism expenditure amounting to 58.85 billion yuan, a 9.87 percent year-on-year growth.
