Hechi (Yizhou) Western Transit Road nears completion

The Hechi (Yizhou) Western Transit Road is nearing completion and is expected to open by the end of November 2024. The project began in September 2022, and 86.27 percent of the total investment had been completed by July 2024, amounting to 4.91 billion yuan ($694 million).

The expressway spans 45.44 kilometers and begins from the Desheng service area of the G78 Shankun Expressway, passing through several towns, including Huaiyuan, Tongde, Beiya, and Beishan. In addition, the road will link with the Yufeng-Yizhou Expressway which is currently under construction.

Once operational, the new route will enhance connectivity between counties and cities in northwest Guangxi, improve the regional expressway network, and promote economic development and rural vitalization along its route.
