Hechi-Libo Expressway in Guangxi to open by end of 2024
On Sept 28, a swivel bridge spanning from the Hechi-Libo expressway to the Qian-Gui railway, was rotated to its targeted position. It is the first swivel bridge along the Hechi-Libo Expressway, and its completion is a sign that the remainder of the expressway will be completed in a timely manner.
The 69.2-kilometer-long swivel bridge will fill a major transportation gap in Huanjiang, located in China's only Maonan autonomous county, which currently lacks highway access.
The Hechi-Libo Expressway stretches 69.2 kilometers and will become a key part of the route connecting Guiyang, Chengdu, and Chongqing to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, significantly reducing travel distances between Liuzhou, Hechi, Laibin, and Guizhou.
Once operational, the new expressway will improve two-way connectivity and enhance regional economic cooperation between Guangxi and Guizhou.
