Luocheng's sweet autumn persimmons hit market early
On Sept 11, the persimmon harvest season arrived in Zhaibei village, Huangjin town, Luocheng Mulao autonomous county, with plump persimmons hanging from the branches.
The 50-mu (3.33-hectare) persimmon orchard in Zhaibei village is the largest planting base for the new variety of Taiqiu sweet persimmons in Luocheng. Taiqiu persimmons, introduced in recent years, boast vibrant colors and a sweet, crisp taste.
Taiqiu persimmons have strict requirements for growth conditions, necessitating an altitude of over 300 meters for cultivation. Zhaibei village benefits from excellent natural conditions with abundant sunlight and fertile soil. This year marks the fourth year of fruit tree planting, with an estimated total yield expected to reach between 3,500 to 4,000 kilograms.
Leveraging its natural environmental advantages, Huangjin town is developing premium industries such as high-quality rice, sand ginger, and Taiqiu sweet persimmons and promoting agricultural products to the public and consumers.
