Dahua celebrates Zhuzhu Festival with colorful traditions

On July 3, Dahua Yao autonomous county hosted the Zhuzhu Festival celebration, drawing together diverse ethnic groups for traditional sporting events such as spinning tops, embroidered ball throwing, cockfighting, crossbow shooting, and board shoe sprinting.

With a Yao population exceeding 130,000, accounting for 26.7 percent of the total population. Dahua county has implemented targeted development strategies to enhance the well-being of its Yao residents. Leveraging ethnic advantages, longevity, and ecological characteristics, the county promotes the growth of characteristic industries to enhance household incomes.

Through the exploration and integration of ethnic culture, Dahua county is forging a path that incorporates ethnic customs, ecological cuisine, and cultural tourism into its developmental framework.
