Hechi singers bring traditional folk songs to Fengshan
On March 16, the musical sound of bronze drums and the resounding tunes of folk songs filled the air at the Yuanyang Cave Scenic Area in the Leye-Fengshan UNESCO Global Geopark. Folk Singers from Guangxi's four cities, including Hechi and Baise, competed on stage.
This event marks the commencement of the scenic area's celebration of the Guangxi Sanyuesan Festival, a traditional festival for the Zhuang ethnic group. The festival falls on the third day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Performance troupes from various prefecture-level cities in Guangxi: Hechi, Baise, Liuzhou, and Laibin, showcased their traditional folk songs at the Guangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange and Exhibition, captivating the audience.
An official from the Yuanyang Cave Scenic Area explained that singers from different regions of Guangxi gathered here to promote tourism in Fengshan through the art of folk songs, praise the beauty of the scenic area, and introduce local specialty agricultural and sideline products as well as delicious snacks.
