Hechi further promotes liquor industry

The liquor industry in Hechi sees a significant surge in its development with new growth drivers and support from the government.

Hechi has built a complete product chain system of liquor, relying on its rich ecological resources. The system prioritizing "sauce" aroma baijiu encompasses a complete range of liquor, which includes wine, rice wine, sake, etc. 

Twenty-three wine-producing companies in Hechi have a total annual production of 90,000 metric tons. The output value of Hechi's liquor industry above the designated size has risen from 1.86 billion yuan ($258.5 million) in 2018 to 4.49 billion yuan in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate of more than 18 percent.

Meanwhile, it has offered an annual fund of 20 million yuan to leading enterprises and invests 2.31 billion yuan to back significant projects for the vitalization of Guijiu (One of the famous brands in China's liquor industry). It has encouraged wine-producing companies to collaborate with scientific research units and universities to promote new technologies. An increasing number of advanced technologies and management experiences have been introduced into the city, enhancing the development momentum of the industry.

In an effort to enhance the local liquor industry, Hechi has integrated it with tourism, promoting the establishment of factory tours and associated goods. This innovative approach intertwines brewing, scientific exploration, and cultural elements, with the objective of transforming the essence of Hechi liquor into distinctive cultural products representative of the region.
