Bama's bottled water industry achieves rapid growth

The bottled water industry of Bama Yao autonomous county, Hechi, is flourishing with the presence of 14 water production enterprises and seven drinking water enterprises above the designated size (that is, firms with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more each).

In 2023, the industry recorded a production value of 750 million yuan ($108 million), representing a 43 percent year-on-year growth.

According to Qin Feng, production manager of Guangxi Bama Boquan Natural Mineral Water, the company reported a 70 percent surge in bottled water production during the same period. This expansion in production facilitated increased sales in central, eastern, and southern China, contributing to a tax revenue exceeding 6 million yuan for the company.
