​Hechi tourism sees surge during New Year's Day holiday

Hechi proved to be a popular tourist destination as the city received a significant influx of visitors during the recent New Year's Day holiday. The city witnessed a rise in tourist footfall, with 580,000 tourists visiting the city from Dec 30, 2023, to Jan 1, 2024. This figure represents a 36.24 percent increase compared to the previous year and a 122.11 percent increase from 2019.

The total tourism consumption during the three-day holiday reached 365.8 million yuan ($52.3 million), growing by 31.72 percent from the previous year and surpassing figures of 2019 by 181.09 percent.

Various captivating cultural and recreational activities were held throughout the city, including a music carnival at Hechi Garden Expo Park, a festival for folk music, culture, sports, and food in Dahua Yao autonomous county, an ancient Zhuang ethnic boxing competition in Donglan county, and a mass art performance in Jinchengjiang district.
