Huanjiang focuses on building sustainable forestry industry

Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, known for its abundant forests, has been focusing on creating a complete forestry industrial chain and improving the ecological, economic and social benefits generated from forest resources.

As part of the cooperation initiative between Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Guangdong province, the Hechi Modern Forestry Industrial Park has been built. The park includes Hanxiang Park, located in Hanxiang village, Shuiyuan town, which has a planned land area of about 2,000 mu (133 hectares) and has already attracted 25 companies, with nine of them operating.

With a forest coverage rate of 78.6 percent, Huanjiang is leading the way in developing the forestry with various products such as chipboard, integrated timber, ecological boards, and flame-retardant boards.

In the future, the county aims to attract more high-end timber companies from Shandong and Zhejiang provinces to set up operations in Huanjiang, striving to foster a flourishing forestry industry and contribute to the county's high-quality industrial growth.
