Nandan holds event to promote ICH items
Nandan county hosted a remarkable exhibition to showcase its rich intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items on Dec 8.
Over 1,000 students from 12 local schools banded together to create a stunning performance. Different ICH items were presented to the audience through live broadcasts.
In recent years, Nandan has implemented various policies to support the inheritance of traditional knowledge and skills by younger generations. This effort ensures the future sustainability of these invaluable cultural treasures.
As of October, Nandan county has established 19 platforms and three specialized workshops dedicated to the protection and preservation of ICH items.
As it stands, Nandan boasts two national-level inheritors, 17 autonomous-region-level inheritors, 32 municipal-level inheritors, and 45 county-level inheritors. It is also home to over 1,500 protected bronze drums.
By organizing such events, Nandan county seeks to foster a greater appreciation and understanding of its cultural legacy, both within the community and among visitors.
