In recent years, Bama Yao autonomous county has enhanced its tourism sector and local economy by utilizing its rich karst landforms.

In the first half of this year, Bama received a total of 4.38 million tourists, a recovery of 122.92 percent compared to the same period in 2019. The area's total tourism consumption during this same period reached 4.13 billion yuan ($580 million), a recovery of 101.67 percent compared to 2019.

Crystal Palace in Bama Yao autonomous county is a unique tourist destination that is known for its magnificent stalactite formations. This unique geological site has attracted countless visitors who want to appreciate the wonders of nature. Crystal Palace is also a natural oxygen bar, as the concentration of negative oxygen ions inside the cave ranges from 36,000 to 70,000 ions per cubic centimeter, which is 5 to10 times higher than the air outside.

Crystal Palace was constructed after being discovered by local villagers in 2004. It opened to the public in 2007 and was awarded the national 4A-level tourist attraction status in 2009. Over the last three years, the Crystal Palace has received an annual average of about 150,000 visitors, and an annual tourism revenue that exceeded 10 million yuan.
