Hechi to build green development pilot zone
Hechi is hosting a press conference on building a green development pilot zone to create an advanced ecological civilization district in Guangxi.
Hechi boasts advantageous ecological resources and has been struggling to build a green development pilot zone according to the guiding documents of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since April 2022.
Hechi has explored major industrial layout, green project planning, and green finance reforms to integrate the development of the green development pilot zone into all processes of economic and social development.
In 2022, investment in high-tech industries in Hechi increased by 35.8 percent and the energy consumption ratio of 10,000 yuan ($1,373) of GDP decreased by 0.5 percent.
Hechi has established an autonomous-region-level economic development zone and high-tech zone, and efforts have been made to attract high-tech enterprises such as Tongkun Group to Hechi, supporting the development of an industrial framework.
The Hechi green development funds will finance the transformation of energy and industrial companies by introducing funds and facilitating the industrial layout. The balance of green loans in Hechi currently sits at 21.59 billion yuan.
Significant progress has been made in the development of wind and photovoltaic power, promoting the development of the renewable energy equipment manufacturing industry. It strives to increase the installed capacity of clean energy by over 7 million kilowatts by 2025.
The proportion of days with good air quality in the urban area of Hechi, the water quality compliance rate of rivers and reservoirs, and the environmental quality status of surface water continues to rank among the highest in the entire region.
