Mountain cycling race brings vitality to Nandan

On Oct 28, the National Student (Youth) Games' first mountain cycling race took place in Nandan county, Hechi, promoting sportsmanship.
The cycling race venue, located in the Baping Wetland Forest Health Tourism Area, is at the junction of Guangxi and Guizhou. The area also features forests and a picturesque blend of lakes and mountains.
In recent years, Hechi has leveraged its advantages as an ethnic minority region and tapped into its local and cultural characteristics. The city is now focused on promoting unique sports activities like bamboo rafting, dragon and lion dances, and embroidery ball sports.
"The games have brought both vitality and enthusiasm for sports and fitness to the city. We hope to provide top-notch event services for athletes and showcase the charm of Nandan, Hechi," stated Tan Shanqi, director of the Nandan county cultural, radio, television, sports, and tourism bureau.
"Seizing the opportunity of hosting the National Student (Youth) Games, Hechi will further develop its sports, cultural tourism, and rural vitalization projects, thus driving its tourism and consumption sectors. It will also contribute to economic and social development," said Miao Zhilong, deputy secretary-general of the CPC Hechi Municipal Committee.
