Hechi has achieved significant progress in transportation and infrastructure development this year. Between January and September, the city has invested 19.17 billion yuan ($2.62 billion) into its transportation projects.

The construction of highways has been a major contributor to this investment figure, with a total investment of 15.27 billion yuan. The completion of the Laibin-Du'an Expressway in June has expanded the city's highway network to 850 kilometers. The construction of the Tian'e-Beihai Highway and the Tian'e-Bama Highway is near completion. Once opened, the city's highway network will exceed 1,000 km.

In addition to highways, improvements have also been made to national and provincial trunk roads, with an investment of 236 million yuan. Rural road projects have received an investment of 1.26 billion yuan during this same period. Preparatory work for waterway infrastructure projects is still underway, with plans to begin construction in the fourth quarter. These waterway projects are set to enhance the navigability of the Hongshui River.

In addition to these developments, the opening of the Guiyang-Nanning High-Speed Railway has propelled Hechi into the high-speed rail era. The city has also made great progress in completing the one-hour economic circle between Nanning and Guiyang.
