Huanjiang promotes transportation construction
Huanjiang implemented a three-year action plan in 2021 to contribute to building a county that is strong in transportation. Since then, its high-speed rail, expressways, and highways have contributed towards achieving this goal.
On Aug 31, with the full operation of the Guiyang-Nanning High-Speed Rail, Huanjiang became part of the one-hour economic circle between Nanning and Guiyang.
"I came specifically to see the waterfall in Niujiaozhai. I heard that the scenery here is beautiful, and indeed it is. This time, we took the high-speed rail from Nanning to Huanjiang, and the journey only took a little over an hour. Previously, it would take us four hours by bus, so the travel time has been greatly reduced," said a tourist named Wei Liangyu.
The Hechi-Libo Expressway passes through the western part of the county, passing towns such as Shuiyuan, Luoyang, and Chuanshan. With a total length of 69.15 kilometers and a designed speed of 100 km per hour, this expressway is expected to be open to traffic in 2025. Once completed, it will provide a new route for interconnection between Guangxi and Guizhou.
In addition, Huanjiang has emphasized developing its rural roads, as they carry the hope of increasing both income and prosperity. The Huanjiang Xianan to Chehe Second-level Highway, which opened to traffic in 2022, has brought tangible benefits to the people that live along the highway.
"With convenient transportation, the number of tourists has increased, and they are curious about our Nuo mask carving. Some tourists even place orders on the spot, helping us increase our income," said Tan Jianxin, a villager from Zhongnan village.
