On Sept 23, Hechi's Jinchengjiang district celebrated the 2023 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival at the Zhuhai Cultural Eco-tourism Area. The event showcased Jinchengjiang's achievements in agriculture and rural vitalization.
At the event, a variety of song and dance performances captivated the audience, creating a visual and auditory feast.
In the agricultural experience area, activities such as catching fish and ducks attracted the enthusiastic participation of visitors. The rice-cake-making activity allowed everyone to experience and appreciate the difficulties of farming.
Representatives from agricultural enterprises promoted their products in the exhibition area. White watermelons, red sweet potato vermicelli, corn, handmade brown sugar, and honey… Various agricultural products presented a delightful picture of a bountiful harvest.
In the intangible cultural heritage workshop, Wei Xinjia, an 11th-generation producer of handmade brown sugar, said, "After making sugar from sugarcane, we ferment this sugar liquor. Both are popular among customers."
