Hechi's retail sector goes into recovery mode
The retail sector in Hechi is reportedly showing strong signs of recovery, with consumer spending up.
In the first half of the year, total retail sales of consumer goods in the city increased by 5.4 percent, ranking second in Guangxi in terms of the growth rate.
After optimizing its COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control policies, the restaurant and catering and retail industries in Hechi have now recovered.
In the Jinchengjiang district, various night markets are in full swing in these days, while new gourmet restaurants and supermarkets have become hotspots for spending.
In the first six months, the income generated by the restaurants and catering industry in Hechi increased by 12.8 percent, while the retail sector's earnings grew by 9.1 percent.
Among the five categories of rigid consumer goods, four categories, namely grain and oil products, beverages, tobacco and alcohol, as well as daily necessities, were higher than Guangxi's average by 15.3, 22.5, 11.5, and 29.1 percentage points, respectively.
To boost consumption, the city has coordinated funding from the autonomous region, city and county levels to provide attractive policies, such as subsidies for car purchase taxes, new energy vehicle purchase subsidies and discount shopping vouchers and coupons.
The city has also hosted over 20 events, including Jinchengjiang district's first fruit culture festival and five car trade fairs, which have bolstered the consumer market and boosted consumption growth.
