Scenic spots in Hechi see surge in tourists
Hechi, a tourist destination Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region famous for its ethnic culture and the longevity of its people, has recently been witnessing a surge in tourists flocking to its scenic spots.
At the Bama Cifu Lake Scenic Area, the Luocheng Cotton Tiankeng Scenic Area and the Nandan Geyasigu Scenic Area, visitors from all over the world have come to visit, experience local culture and savor local delicacies.
In the first half of the year, the city received 25.17 million tourists from home and abroad. That represented a year-on-year increase of 39.44 percent and a 31.58 percent increase during the same period in 2019.
Total tourism spending hit 25.82 billion yuan ($3.55 billion), a year-on-year increase of 15.92 percent, reaching 100.45 percent of the same period in 2019 in comparable terms.
To promote the recovery of its cultural and tourism sectors, the local government has provided policy and funds support, as well as promoted the launch of tourism projects.
The city has also organized a series of cultural tourism promotions campaigns, launching nine tourism routes under six themes, including experiencing the famous local bronze drum culture.
Folk festivals were organized in the six months and more than 20 tourism discount activities were launched.
