Fengshan's cultural tourism market flourishes

Fengshan has seen a noticeable recovery in its cultural tourism industry this year.

In the first half of this year, the county received 2.41 million tourists, reaching an increase of 37.58 percent when compared to the same period in 2019. Its total tourism consumption reached 2.13 billion yuan ($295 million), increasing 7.87 percent compared to the figures from 2019.

In recent years, Fengshan has been developing a holistic tourism demonstration zone in Guangxi. By exploring and enriching tourism formats such as study tours, summer retreats, and sports tourism routes, the county is promoting the high-quality development of its cultural and tourism industries.

The county has invested over 53 million yuan into building and upgrading five study tour bases, including the Sanmenhai Scenic Spot, and Bala Monkey Mountain. It has also designed study tour courses on farming, intangible cultural heritage, industry, revolutionary history, folk customs, and nature.

With an average annual temperature of 19.2 C and an average annual rainfall of 1,553.7 millimeters, Fengshan enjoys mild winters and cool summers, making it an ideal summer retreat destination.

This summer, Fengshan has made full use of its abundant resources, such as its forests, mountains, water bodies, and caves, to organize tourism-themed marketing activities. It has planned high-quality summer tourism routes and introduced a series of preferential policies at key summer retreats, attracting 878,400 tourists and boosting tourism consumption throughout the county.

In addition, Fengshan has developed the integration of tourism and sports. It designed 68 kilometers of mountain biking routes, which pass through the Sanmenhai Scenic Area and the Chuanlongyan Scenic Area. Presently, the county has completed seven hiking trails totaling 45 km, which offer opportunities for tourists to go hiking and engage in outdoor adventure tourism activities.
