Hechi has launched a five-year action plan to build rural pastoral complexes. It aims to consolidate the achievements made in poverty alleviation and effectively connect with the rural vitalization.
Over the past two years, 22 pastoral complexes have been developed in 11 counties and districts. By 2025, the city aims to build three provincial-level pastoral complexes and strive to establish one national-level pastoral complex.
During their construction, each county and district has taken local circumstances into consideration.
They've deepened rural reforms, improved the business environment, attracted urban residents to visit the countryside and encouraged rural migrant workers to return to their hometowns for employment and entrepreneurship.
Wang Yifeng, who owns a number of companies in the fields of educational technology, agricultural technology and e-commerce, has returned to his hometown. He participated in the construction of the Xiumei Renjia Pastoral Complex in Du'an Yao autonomous county.
He's engaged in rice-vegetable rotation planting on 1,000 mu (66.7 hectares) of land - producing selenium-rich rice, peppers, corn and other organic products, which are then distributed to urban consumers through e-commerce platforms.
In the development of these rural complexes, government funding is invested to enhance featured industries, protect the ecosystem and environment, explore local culture, promote rural social governance and nurture the collective economy.
The 22 pastoral complexes involve 1,031 subprojects, with a planned total investment topping 8 billion yuan ($1.12 billion), benefiting 57 administrative villages and 12 community residents.
