The Yunhai Chashan Pastoral Complex in Fengshan county is a comprehensive pastoral complex with oil tea and rice as its main agricultural industries and ecological tourism as its supporting industry.

It consists of four areas: the oil tea plantation demonstration area, the ecological tourism experience area, the red tourism experience area, and the ecological countryside cultural area. It covers three administrative villages: Nalao, Baile, and Jiulong village, which include 1,277 households and 5,121 people.

In recent years, the county has expanded its oil tea industry chain and established an industrial base that integrates the planting of camellia forests, the production of oil tea, scientific research, poverty alleviation, and technical training.

"The planting area of camellia fruits for oil production is about 19,000 mu (1,267 hectares), and the production line can process 1,000 metric tons of camellia seeds each year, with an annual output value of about 15 million yuan ($2 million)," said Wang Chunfeng, the person in charge of the Nalao tea oil plantation demonstration area.

As the ecological tourism experience area of the pastoral complex, the Bala Monkey Mountain Scenic Area is home to more than 600 wild macaques. Luo Qiyue, the person in charge of the base said, "As the local ecological forest gradually recovers, with a forest coverage rate of over 95 percent, the macaques that once nearly disappeared have returned."

The scenic area has built a monkey paradise, as well as a wild orchid garden, a business center, specialty restaurants, hiking trails, children's playgrounds, viewing platforms, and several parking lots. It attracts about 100,000 visitors annually, with ticket revenue of about 1.2 million yuan.

The construction of the Fengshan Yunhai Chashan Pastoral Complex is still progressing. The total planned area of the project is about 25,700 mu, with 44 sub-projects planned and a planned investment of 216 million yuan. To date, an investment of 198 million yuan has been achieved, accounting for 91.7 percent of the total project investment.
