Local residents in Hechi, a region with abundant mountains, have been utilizing their backyard spaces to increase their income and promoting rural vitalization.

Many counties and districts in Hechi have developed distinctive courtyard economy models, including cultivation, handicrafts, leisure tourism, and production.

In Disu town, Du'an Yao autonomous county, the woven products made by the villagers have entered the international market, contributing to foreign exchange earnings. Meanwhile, the Yaoshanmei Cultural and Creative Park in Latang village has brought prosperity to its local villagers.

In Gaogong village, Liujia town, Jinchengjiang district, the villagers have built fish ponds and farm ducks in their yards. This has made the aquaculture industry a prosperous local industry.

Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county has encouraged households in relocation settlements to engage in the courtyard economy. Lu Changchun, a local villager, utilized his tofu-making skills and rented a shop to engage in the production, retail, and delivery of tofu near his house.

In Nandan county, villagers are encouraged to develop a courtyard economy based on local conditions, such as fruit and vegetable cultivation and chicken farming. In Luofu town and Chengguan town, many villagers cultivate plums in their yards, driving local tourism development in the spring when the flowers bloom.
