Nandan farmers begin spring harvest
As the temperature rises, the first spring tea crops mature in the Liulong Tea Industry Demonstration Zone located in Longma village, Liuzhai town, Nandan county. Tea farmers in and around the zone are now busy harvesting and processing spring tea leaves.
The Liulong Tea Industry Demonstration Zone is the planting base of Hechi Liulong Tea Industry. The company's "Liulong" trademark has been recognized as a famous trademark in Guangxi. Currently, the total area of its tea garden is nearly 4,000 mu (267 hectares), with over 300 tea planting households.
In recent years, the demonstration zone has developed industries through the model of "company + cooperative + base + farmer", adopting unified management, acquisition, processing, brand, and sales methods. The zone has also driven surrounding farmers to get involved in the tea production industry, which has solved employment problems and given work to more than 60,000 people. The zone has paid over 6 million yuan ($871,560) in wages to its employees, which increased the annual per capita net income of tea farmers in the area from 2,000 yuan in 2004 to 17,200 yuan in 2021.
