Since 2022, Hechi's Luocheng Mulam autonomous county has been developing its raw materials industry for Luosifen, or river snail rice noodles, which has boosted its rural vitalization efforts.

The production value of the Luosifen raw materials industry is now 185 million yuan ($26.67 million), with income per household increasing by 3,000 to 5,000 yuan.

Relying on its proximity to Liuzhou, Luocheng has integrated into Liuzhou's Luosifen industry chain, creating a Luosifen raw materials industry base. In 2022, the county planted 6,000 mu (400 hectares) of bamboo and 4,500 mu of long beans. It also cultivated 1,058 mu of snails, with the industry covering 11 townships in the county.

The county has also introduced an implementation plan for the development of its Luosifen raw materials industry to further strengthen policy support and funding. It has set up a science and technology service system to promote the new technology of "rice and snail farming," as well as to provide technical guidance and advisory services for industrial development.

In addition, Luocheng has made great efforts to cultivate leading enterprises and build a Luosifen industrial park. By the end of December 2022, construction of the first phase of the Luosifen industrial park was completed and agreements were signed with two companies to enter the park.
