Construction of Yantan Reservoir Bridge makes progress

On Feb 15, the steel sleeve boxes on the first layer of the Yantan Reservoir Bridge, a key control project of the Bama-Qiangxu Expressway, were installed smoothly.

The Yantan Reservoir Bridge is about 974 meters in length and 35.6 meters in width. It adopts the standard of a two-way six-lane expressway. The steel sleeve boxes are the water enclosure structure for the construction of the main pier cap and also serve as the formwork for concrete pouring. The installation of the steel sleeve boxes is a key link in the construction of the deepwater foundation of the whole bridge. The total height of the steel boxes lowered this time is six meters, the weight is 750 metric tons, and the bottom area of the steel boxes is about 1,250 square meters.

In order to control the construction risk and ensure the smooth progress of node construction, the headquarters of Bama-Qiangxu Expressway arranged the construction plan in advance. During the construction process, the construction process was strictly followed to ensure safety and quality.
